The announcement was just made that the former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari has won the first Nobel Peace Prize for the country. Ahtisaari has acted as a peace negotiator in several conflicts around the world for the past three decades, and just last week he was also awarded the UNESCO Peace Prize. It's a good day for this deserving country.
